INGREDIENTS
- 1 pkg (15.25 oz each) Duncan Hines® Classic White Cake Mix
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 container (16 oz each) Duncan Hines® Creamy Vanilla Frosting
- Assorted gel food coloring
- 24 PEEPS® Brand Marshmallow Party Cake Flavored Chicks

INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line 3 baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Blend butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla together in large bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed until well blended, about a minute. In a medium bowl, stir together cake mix and flour. Add dry ingredients to the butter mixture and beat on low speed until a soft dough forms.
- Roll out 24 teaspoon sized portion dough balls and set aside for flower centers. With remaining dough, add food coloring to get your desired shade for the flower petals.
- Place the uncolored dough balls 4 inches apart from each other on parchment lined baking sheets. Roll out teaspoon sized portion balls from the colored dough and arrange 5 dough balls around each center. The petals should touch the center, but do not need to touch each other as they will spread during baking.
- Freeze the flowers on baking sheet for 30 minutes prior to baking.
- Bake cookies for 10 to 12 minutes, just until centers are set, and edges are lightly browned.
- Let cool on baking sheet for 10 minutes, before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- To the center of each flower spread a small amount of frosting and top with a PEEPS® Party Cake Flavored Chick. Serve and enjoy!
