INGREDIENTS
- PAM® Baking Spray
- 1 pkg (15.25 oz each) Duncan Hines® Signature Lemon Supreme Cake Mix
- 1 cup water
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 container (14 oz each) Duncan Hines® Whipped Fluffy White Frosting
- 1 small package white fondant
- food coloring gel
- 6 PEEPS® Brand Marshmallow Bunnies
- plastic straws or paper treat sticks
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray 2 8-inch round pans with baking spray.
- Blend cake mix, water, eggs, and oil in a large bowl with an electric mixer on low speed until moistened, about 30 seconds. Beat on medium speed 2 minutes.
- Divide batter evenly into pans. Bake 24 to 28 minutes, until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack 15 minutes. Remove from pans and cool completely.
- Place one cooled cake layer on serving plate. Frost with a thin layer of frosting. Top with second cake layer. Frost entire cake with remaining frosting.
- Take about 1 tablespoon fondant and knead a few drops of food coloring gel into it to make your desired shades. Dust countertop very lightly with confectioners’ sugar and roll fondant out thin. Use small round cookie cutters or the large end of piping tips to cut circles of fondant in varying sizes. Press circles randomly all around the top and sides of cake.
- Place straws or sticks in the bottom of each of your PEEPS® Marshmallow Bunnies and stick into top of cake at different heights. Slice your polka dot cake and serve!
