INGREDIENTS

Cinnamon Rolls

  • 1⅔ cups all-purpose flour, plus extra for kneading
  • 2½ tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1½ tsp instant yeast
  • ⅓ tsp salt
  • ½ cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 large egg, whisked (only use half)

Filling

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature
  • ⅓ cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Toppings

  • PEEPS® Brand Marshmallow Chicks, any color
  • Rainbow sprinkles
  • Store-bought cream cheese frosting
  1. Preheat oven to 350F. In a large mixing bowl combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. In a heatproof bowl, combine the water and butter and microwave for about 30 seconds, until the mixture is slightly warm (not hot). Pour into the dry ingredients along with half the whisked egg, mixing until a dough has formed.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead until smooth, adding more flour if needed. Place the dough in a bowl, loosely covered, and allow to rise for 15-20 minutes.
  4. To make the filling, combine the butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl- mixing until smooth.
  5. Roll the dough into a rectangle and spread on the cinnamon filling. Cut the dough into strips, then roll 4 of the strips into buns, reserving 4 strips. Wrap each bun with one reserved strip to make roll slightly larger.
  6. Place each bun into a mini cast iron skillet and bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Once cooled, spread each bun with cream cheese frosting. Finish with rainbow sprinkles and top with a PEEPS® Brand Marshmallow Chick.
